Live scan

Shows a running scan in real time: its phases, the datasets analysed, the profiled columns and the rules passing or failing, dataset by dataset. Open it from Connections, from a dataset's details or from the sample data.

What you can do

  • Follow the scan phases (Datasets, Automatic monitors, Lineage, Completed) and the counters for datasets, “Profiled columns”, “Rules evaluated” and “New issues”, with the elapsed time; the badge at the top shows whether the page is “Live” or updating with no streaming.
  • Watch the dataset “On stage”: the pipeline steps (Profile columns, Drift and anomalies, Rules, Duplicates, Score), the columns filling in and the rules turning green or red as they are evaluated.
  • Browse “Datasets in this scan”, with each one's progress and score, and open any dataset; the list shows the first 300.
  • Read why a dataset failed when the source refused it because of a limit, such as the BigQuery bytes cap or a required partition filter. The reason shows under the dataset and stays in the scan summary under “Datasets refused by the source”.
  • At the end, see the outcome (failed rules and new issues, or the error if the scan failed) and go on to “View issues”, when there are new issues, or “View datasets”.
  • With the sample data, open the “Demo script” with each planted problem and its story.
  • If the scan is still queued, or is old and the live detail is no longer available, see the summary with datasets, new issues and duration.
